What – and where – is the Congregational Office?

The Congregational Office is the small room on the right, beside the desk in the Greeting Hall. It contains mailboxes for staff and all commission chairpersons, usher supplies, forms for requesting reimbursement and pencils and paper for leaving notes.

Are there special jobs that I can volunteer to do?
Yes – our decorators, ushers and greeters are volunteers. Our Garden Committee maintains the Church Garden, volunteers assist with mass mailings, and stuff newsletters. Many help with youth trips or decorate bulletin boards. Helping at the Food Pantry, with the Back Pack program, wit Vacation Bible School, with Sunday Morning Childcare, and with Wednesday night meal and more! How do I schedule a wedding at Bridgewater Church of the Brethren Memorial? Do I have to be a member of the church?
Information about weddings is found here.To schedule a wedding date, contact the Shannon Puffenbarger at 540 828-3711 ext. 100. Weddings are scheduled on a first come first served basis. Non-members can schedule a wedding within six months prior to the wedding date, only.   A Wedding Planning Guide is available for all potential wedding couples and each couple will be paired with a wedding liaison.

How do I get an electronic version of the Church Directory?
Church members may log on and download or access an electronic version of the church directory, prayer lists and other information which is not available to those who don’t have log-in information.

Do I need reservations for Wednesday Night Suppers (offered when Children’s Choirs are practicing)?
No! Just come between 5:15 and 6:30 to share in a meal in the Social Hall.

May non-member children participate in summer programs like Vacation BIble School?
We welcome children whose parents attend Bridgewater Church, as well as friends, family and community members. Please register for VBS using our online enrollment.

How can I support the church financially?
Gifts can be made to support the operating budget of the church by contacting the Financial Manager, Glenna Wampler, at 540 828-3711. Estimated giving cards are available from our Stewardship and Giving pages.
Pledges and gifts may also be placed in the offering plate during a Sunday worship service.

How can I make a memorial gift?

How do I get a copy of a sermon? 
Pastor Zepp’s sermons can be found in pdf and audio format on our website, in Sermon Archives.
Pastor Carr’s sermons can be found in  audio format on our website, in Sermon Archives.

How do I place flowers in the sanctuary during worship services
?
Call Shannon Puffenbarger at 540 828 3711 or contact the decorators for the month during which you would like to place flowers.

What is the newsletter deadline?
The deadline for newsletter articles is the 15th of each month for the following month’s newsletter.   Please email information to be included in the newsletter to Shannon Puffenbarger.

Where is lost and found?
A box of “found” items is located in the Congregational Office, on the shelf below the counter.
