The Bridgewater church puppet ministry began in 2009 and provides an opportunity for Christian learning through puppets. Participating youth select their own puppets and develop each one’s personality. The puppet skits are written and developed by church members and are presented during select worship services. The skits are written from Christian themes and presented in a humorous format.
Generally, the puppeteers begin learning in the sixth grade and develop skills over the years by using improvisational situations where they create their character’s dialog. The puppeteers say this is the favorite part of their time together. The puppet skits are a fun learning experience for everyone.
This program is currently directed by Associate Pastor Chris Zepp, Leanne Kreps, and Palmer Berry. Contact these members or anyone on the church staff for more information about the Bridgewater Church of the Brethren puppet ministry.
